MICHAEL KELLY

Michael Kelly is a graduate of Staunton Military Academy, a prestigious, 100 year-old military academy located in Staunton, Virginia. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Ithaca College and went on to the University of Miami School of Law to earn his Juris Doctorate. Mr. Kelly is also the recipient of the Reginald H. Smith Post-Graduate Fellowship from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.
Mr. Kelly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1958 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1963. He credits his unwavering resolve to ethically representing clients to the values learned while at Staunton Military Academy and the United States Military.
Throughout his forty years of Family Law experience, Mr. Kelly has exhibited the highest level of professional leadership, completing numerous achievements. He has served as the former Chairman of the American Bar Association Custody Committee, the California State Bar Custody and Visitation Committee, and the Santa Monica Bar Association Family Law Section.
Mr, Kelly has taught Certified Family Law Specialist courses at the University of Southern California Law School and lectured at a variety of law schools and conferences, including: the University of Michigan, University of California Los Angeles, Notre Dame University, the American Bar National Conference, the California State Bar Conference, and the Orange County Bar Association.
Various media outlets, including: CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, and KNBC Los Angeles, have used Mr. Kelly’s expert legal analysis to discuss high profile divorce cases. He has also consulted radio and print media on Family Law issues. Mr. Kelly is also an accomplished writer, and he has recently created a blog to discuss a variety of topics in family law.
